When to visit Panama?
Panama can be visited year-round, but each season has its own character. From mid-December to mid-April, the dry season reigns: clear skies over the San Blas Islands, calm waters off Bocas del Toro, and passable trails in Soberanía National Park. It's the most comfortable period for combining the Caribbean and Pacific coasts, but also the busiest around Christmas and Semana Santa. The green season, from May to November, brings tropical showers in late afternoons: the jungle becomes lush, the canal and the highlands of Boquete take on particular intensity. To spot humpback whales in the Gulf of Chiriquí, August and September are your best bet.
